Akahai means grace.
We show grace through our kindness and tenderness. When we practice Akahai we try to breath in kindness and exhale kindness. When we think of being kind, we think about how we can be nicer and friendlier towards everything- land, plants, animals, humans. We sometimes forget that we should be kind to ourselves as well. When we are kind to others and to ourselves breathing in Akahai, Akahai flows naturally. When we practice Akahai we are cultivating awareness of our actions that are consistent with ALOHA.
This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.
